Diamond in the Rough
And I just can't get enough
Human:
Rosuto never truly cared for her looks till she began to be teased for them. She used to keep her hair short and cropped so it wouldn’t get in her way. But being compared to a boy one too many times forced her to change. In truth Ros is pretty normal and average looking. There isn’t really anything about her that screams drop dead gorgeous or super model. She doesn’t go around pleasing everyone’s eye but making sure they know she’s not a boy. She’s not too well known or popular in school since she stays to herself and tries not to mingle.
Rosuto now stands at about 5'7", with the weight of 107. She's very small, and petite. But she packs one hell of a punch. Due to her extreme training, her body is made up of only 3% fat. The rest is hard core muscles. Her arms are long and graceful, moving like water. On her neck is a hot pink swirl that wraps around it like a choker. Her stomach is very toned, housing a proud six pack. Though she doesn't look like a man, the six pack isn't very defined, and can only be felt if you touch her. On her abdomen lays a scar from her past, a constant reminder. Her hips are well defined, and rather lovely. Her legs are long and lean, itching to be touched. Her feet are very portioned, just like her hands. They match her body size. Her breast size is not very large, but not too small. They are simply perfect and firm. Her butt isn't enormous either, again not small either. It's portioned.
Her face is one of the more dominating features. Her mouth is supple with a slight indentation on the top that just adds to her flare. Her nose is small, a good size. Her eye brows her thin and defined, showing dominance. It is however her eyes that are the most striking feature. They are a bright cyan blue. Unlike her Sister, her eyes are deeper, and hold years of wisdom. They no longer hold an innocent shine like her sister's do. They've seen their fair share of death and pain. Her hair is a shade of brown. The locks frame her face and rest to about the curvature of her back. It has darkened much sense she was a child.
Her cloths aren't fancy, though they never have been. She's a simple dresser. She doesn't wear anything traditional. She likes to keep everything light weight and simple. Her outfits vary on days depending on the weather. She can usually be spotted in a school uniform which she finds comfy. She wears a navy blue turtle neck shirt that hides the mark on her neck. Over it is a yellow jacket with white stripes. She wears a matching navy blue mini skirt. She also has knee high white socks and brown slip on shoes. When she has to dress fancy for something she wears a plain white dress that ends mid thigh below her finger tips. It’s semi low cut with that sleeves around her arm instead of the shoulder. It’s very simple and sometimes has a pink flower pinned to the left side of the chest. On another occasion she wears a plain light purple long sleeve shirt with a darker purple tank top over it. She wears a tan mini skirt. She wears light purple, the same as her shirt, knee high socks with black converses.
Wolf:
Rosuto’s wolf form is actually rather small from the average wolf. She’s only 30 inches at the shoulder and weighs only about 75 pounds. She’s rather an array of colors. They include Gray, brown, rust and tan with light under parts, plus several shades of the same colors. She’s not the best well hidden in snowy times but she can’t help it. She has bright cyan blue eyes just like in human form..
It's All a Part of Me
And that's who I am
Ros usually keeps to herself, not liking to mingle with others. She finds solitude easier to handle then talking or meeting people. With that she is rather soft spoken and doesn’t take chances. She likes to think things through beforehand quickly analyzing a situation before jumping to an action. She’s very rational finding things are always cause an effect. She doesn’t believe that things happen just cause. There is always a reason and she finds it frustrating when she can’t find one. She believes everyone has a choice in everything you do. No one can make you do anything. It’s always your choice, it always has been. That’s another one of her quotes. She also finds it frustrating when you need something but don’t have, based on her favorite phrase to use.
She is very loyal. She doesn’t like to be betrayed so she doesn’t betray anyone else. She’s a big,’do unto others what you want them to do to you.’ Though it doesn’t always work it’s never stopped Ros from believing it. She likes her bonds and never wants to sever them. She’ll keep a secret till her last breath. She’ll do just about anything for the ones she loves. To her friends she’ll protect and help them anyway she can, if she can. She’s always protecting the ones who can’t stand up for themselves.
She’s very affectionate. She doesn’t shut out the people she cares about. She’s never been a cold person even if her exterior perceives her that way. She loves many things in the world finding great joy out of most of it. She wants to always help people in need. She’s always looking for the good in things even if it’s not there. She loves to see people happy even if she’s not.
She is however slightly candid. If you ask her a question she’ll give you the answer straight forward. When giving advice she gives you the truth never hamming it up. She thinks the truth is always best even if the lies sometimes seem like a better answer. Sometimes in the long run all the lies make you trip on yourself and no one will believe you. Some people like her advice and other don’t because they can’t handle the truth. It doesn’t bother Ros; it’s just the way she is.
She is also considerate. She always puts her mind into things thinking everything out. She doesn’t like to be caught off guard so taking the ‘expect the unexpected’ approach helps. She likes to think of all the outcomes so she’s prepared. Planning ahead. She likes to take thing into consideration. She sometimes does things just for the good of it. She has a soft spot for children so the ‘puppy dog eyes’ trick with usually melt her heart and you can bend her your every whim.
She is very determined with perseverance. She doesn’t like to give up. If there’s a will, there’s a way. She also does things with a slight sense of urgency. Now, that doesn’t mean she does things fast and sloppy. She doesn’t things quick and clean. Everything’s done right with a slight time advantage. She doesn’t want to spend hours on something that should take minutes and still get the exact same outcome on.
She’s very mature and wise. The things in her past forced her to grow up more quickly than others. She takes things like an adult not your average teenage girl. Boys were never a huge topic finding crushes to be useless since they always ended badly for her. It doesn’t mean she doesn’t want a relationship or find boys attractive. It means she doesn’t go all stalker mode on a crush cause she knows they won’t like her anyway. She feels if she isn’t too attached to begin with it won’t hurt as much. Simple logic right?
It's Time to Fly
And let's just say goodbye
Ros’s past isn’t very exciting or different from most of the shifters. Her past is probably identical to those of others minus the small details of it all. Rosuto was born in the most perfect of conditions. It was a beautiful spring night where the moon was full and bright. Everything seemed to glow with life and love. Her mother was deep in labor but everything around her seemed to calm her down and make things so much easier. Where as a normal litter would’ve been around five, she only gave birth to four. Unfortunately out of the four only two survived. Ros was the older of the two followed by her younger sister Neko. While her parents were greatly saddened by the deaths of the others it was outweighed by the joy for the two survivors. It was a miracle they were alive and to her mother, the best thing in the world.
Now how Ros got her name is very interesting. Ros had and always has been a curious person. The phrase,”Curiosity killed the cat.” Well there was also the,”Satisfaction brought it back.” There was nothing like learning new things. Ros always loved discovering things and learning exactly how they worked. At the same time she was very calm and not loud so her walking off and no one noticing wasn’t an odd thing either. It was one of those days, while she was still a small pup, she wondered off on her ‘exploring’ habits. Her parents had always noticed when Ros had gone off but this time it was a surprise that they hadn’t noticed. In a frantic search they found her after she had gotten lost. After this episode a few times they secured the name Rosuto or ‘lost’, for her. Ros would find that her name would have more meaning as she got older.
Ros lived a good life. Her parents showing her the city as it grew making sure she knew it was dangerous but all at the same time showing her she shouldn’t be afraid. Ros would come to thank her mother for it since she loved seeing and learning new things. Both Ros and her sister were enrolled in school programs where Ros learning rather quickly and skipped a few grades in the process. To her family she was known as the ‘prodigy child’ which they always joked about. Ros however was often compared to a boy since she liked to keep her hair short and cropped. She never really cared what she looked like therefore never paid any real attention to it. She never messed with clothes either finding it such a hassle to pick and match. She just threw on clothes which were always comfy. Now her sister, on the other hand, was a different story.
Neko was your ultimate girl. She got all the boys and she loved it. Neko thrived off of it, and it didn’t help that her older sister wasn’t as popular. But Ros didn’t care and it never bothered her. More times than not, Ros was the boy ‘dummy’ so Neko could practice on someone. She didn’t mind because she loved her little sister and thought if she could help, she would. So her sister was the opposite of her in so many ways. Neko was rather mean and sinister while Ros was more calm and kind. But they got along very well. Neko didn’t boss around Ros because Ros would always put her in her place with a quick fight that always lasted less than five minutes whether it be in wolf form of human. Ros would always emerge victorious, but she wouldn’t boast or gloat about it. She let it be with silent praise.
At the tender age of sixteen would be the last day of her ‘happy’ life. The events would scar her mind and make her unable to respond to anything for weeks. Ros was off on another one of her adventures exploring things she had seen over and over. She’d just ‘pretend’ to have not seen them. It helped with boredom when she couldn’t find anything to do. When the heavy smell of blood hit her nose she couldn’t help but freeze. The scent was unfamiliar yet very familiar in many ways. She could pick out the similarities in each scent. And she knew why. It was her family. With unknown speed she didn’t know she had she rushed back to their home. The flowers were stained in crimson blood. Her little sister was the only one alive but not for long. “Run Ros. Get out of here! Run and never look back. Please!” And she did, but not before seeing the backs of shadowed men. Their silhouettes forever graved in her mind. She couldn’t remember how long she ran till she was in the heart of the forbidden forest.
She stayed there for weeks, not really eating and barely getting sleep fearing her death would arrive at any time. Any sleep that she got was plagued with nightmares and the death playing over and over in her head. She slowly moved on pushing the thoughts to the back of her head. She cleaned up, trying to hold onto things she remembered. She started to dress more feminine like her sister. She grew her hair out and picked out clothes. She still wasn’t as pretty but the thought was what counted. She wore her mother’s bracelet and her father’s necklace which had a ‘H’ engraved into it. She went back to school finding it helpful to keep her mind on track. In her spare time she gathered information on her parents. She didn’t want to necessarily have revenge as it corrupted the heart. She knew her parents and sister would not want her to become a killer. And for that very reason she didn’t. Instead she studied karate and became a grade 6 dan black belt. She finds it great relief to her anger and stress where she can kick major ass.
She found steady work in a quiet little café which was not too far away from her college or the library. She found a good home that was large enough for herself and another person. Ros meant a boy named Hiso at a local café one day. After that day they became very close. Hiso eventually moved in with her, and Ros found it eased her fears of someone breaking in late at night. She’s been working with him on learning to read while he teaches her the street smarts she always lacked. She’s working on her masters degree at the Vale University in hopes to get a doctorate. She’s been trying to find a way into the higher ranks to help stop animal hunting in paradise and find some mutual ground within the city and beyond the walls. For now, Ros remains her normal kind bookworm.

Which to re-read? The choice was too difficult for even the smartest of people. Le Petit Prince or Il Nome della Rosa? Hrm. Rosuto tapped her chin thoughtfully as her eyes flickered back and forth between the books. Her lips were pursed tightly as her face contorted into deep concentration. Desperate times call for desperate measures. There was only one thing left to do. The decision was becoming too difficult and Ros closed her eyes in thought. Which one? Perhaps she should just pick with ennie-meenie-minie-moe. No, then it would automatically be the book to her right. Maybe she’d spin around and whichever one she pointed at first would be it. No, no, no. That just wouldn’t do. It didn’t have to come to this. Anything but this. But sometimes, things just needed to be done. She’d have to… just read them both. Two hands out stretched and grabbed the hard covered books into her petite hands. Anyone watching the situation would’ve thought her crazy, but it was just how her mind worked.
Rosuto stood up straight before blowing the dust off the covers. She coughed lightly, waving her hand in the air in her attempt to sweep the dust out of the air. With a content smile she turned on her heels and headed to the counter. “I’ve made my decision, Mr. Potts.” She said simply setting the books down on the counter softly. “You were back there for a while. I was beginning to get worried.” The old man joked lightly. He was in his late sixties but alive as ever. He and his wife had opened this shop over forty years ago before she passed away. Rosuto sometimes volunteered here when she had free time. Mr. Potts picked up the books and eyed them. “Haven’t you read these before?” he asked placing them in a bag. Ros smiled, cyan eyes looking at the books. “I have, several times actually. They’re always exciting.” She said truthfully. This earned a soft chuckle form the older gentleman. “I’m running out of books for you to read, Ros.” He said leaning on the counter to support his old rigid bones. “Then I’ll just have to re-read everything here.” She never failed to make the old man smile. She said her usual goodbyes as she exited the store.
Rosuto looked up, placing a handover her eyes to examine the sun starting to set. A low grumble left her stomach as she patted it softly. Perhaps it was time to eat. But where? Rosuto turned her head left and right thinking of places to go. She wasn’t sure where Hiso was or if he was even the city. With a shrug she turned, walking down an ally to her left. She knew these allies well from her frequent trips to the library. Ros wasn’t wearing anything fancy, but perhaps a little more dressed up then she usually did. She wore a simple blue skirt with a slight frill at the body with a white blouse and yellow sweater over it. This was also worn with black flats and matching headband. The air was warm and this part of the city was calm and the air was clean. Ros took in a deep breath as she surveyed her surroundings. There was a main road up a head but only a few people walked about it. Possibly a little café would be best. Yes, that sounded right.
She turned down another ally before stopping in front of a café. It was practically empty save for a few people inside. Ros chose to sit outside, finding the wind to be enjoyable. She opened up her book reading each page with record timing and years or practice. She stopped to look up as a man in his late thirties catching a smoke. Ros wrinkled her nose in disgust as she coughed. “You’d need an hour less of sleep if you quit smoking.” She said simply, looking at him dully. “What?” he said confused, pulling the cigarette out of his mouth to look at her. “You’re tired.” The man turned to her. “So you’re some guru cause you see dark circles under my eyes?” he said sarcastically. “Well, it's not directly related to dark under eye circles. “ she said, setting her book down.” But being tired generally makes your skin paler. And pale skin makes dark circles look darker, and also allows the dark pigmentation to be seen more easily.”
The man threw his lung killer down to the ground, taking in her appearance. He eyes her up and down. “See something you like?” she asked, her voice nowhere near suggestive in anyway. “What makes you think that?” he said smirking. “The pupil of the eye expands as much as 45 percent when a person looks at something pleasing.” She said bluntly. “Yours did just that.” The man snickered before turning and muttering something about her being a ‘rude bitch’. Rosuto sighed while pinching the bridge of her nose. She didn’t think she had been rude. She was simply stating facts and he had taken it the wrong way. She was, in no way, interested in him. She was just clarifying her finds. She took a sip of tea that a waiter had set down. As for his comment about her being rude. “I’ve been called worse by better.” She whispered closing her eyes, shaking her brown locks.
