There is no deceit in death. It delivers precisely what it has promised. Betrayal, though ... betrayal is the willful slaughter of hope.' Kaze DeLuna Ageless- appears 18 • Female • Lunar Beast • Straight • Canon Diamond in the Rough And I just can't get enough Kaze has a way with standing out in a crowd. She was built to be a living replica of a goddess. For a beast she doesn’t look it in any way possible. Her eyes hold this mysterious suggestive look that is always attentive. Her face is normally relaxed into a calm appearance showing no real expressions. She normally stands with her arms crossed and with most of her weight on one leg and hip. She walks about with her shoulders square and back with her head held high. It’s obvious she is powerful and none doubt it. She normally doesn’t show much expression on her face but if she feels anything and wishes to show it, it’s always in her eyes. The only facial movements she normally does it to furrow her brow, purse her lips, or smirk. She doesn’t normally smile, since she doesn’t have anything to smile about and hardly ever frowns since she doesn’t really feel. She isn’t very tall but not too short. She stands at an even 5’6”. She’s not very heavy weighing in at only a hundred and ten pounds. Puberty was rather nice to Kaze, and she supposes it helps her sometimes. She has a very slim waist with curves to die for. She was a wonderful size chest which she Show off in her low cut outfit. She has long arms and legs that are graceful and much like water in movements and are lethal in a fight. She has a good size head that’s places on a slim neck. She has a rather nice ‘bubble’ butt that doesn’t bump against everything, but it’s there. Her legs are long, slender, and smooth. Practically irresistible. Her feet are small and dainty looking quite nice in a good pair of shoes. But don’t be fooled with this beauty, she’s a natural born killer who it not to be messed with. She could quite possibly be your worst nightmare. Her face is a round with a slightly pointed chin. She has rosy pink, full lips, which are plump. The lower lip is slightly larger than the top, and both are very supple. Her eye brows are set lower always giving her that intense look of focus. Her eyes are bright and dazzling, like precious gems themselves. They do look like violet gems that are deep. Her hair is a fiery hot pink almost red tone. The locks are long and flow with the wind. It reaches down to about her lower back/butt. The health of her hair is good. She usually pulls half of it it up in a high fashion. Her teeth are a nice pearly white, even if she doesn’t smile to show them off. Kaze doesn’t really dress fancy and prefers easy to move in clothing, which often resorts in revealing clothing. She wears a tube top of sorts with only a left sleeve in attempt to cover Lux’s bite mark. The cloth of a silk found in foreign lands upon her travels. Below her bust is a leather belt studded with different metals that dangle from it. As far as clothes are her lower half, there really is none. She wears what looks like an undergarment with a cloth that hangs off the side. There’s a leather belt that wraps around her lower stomach to hide the scar where her children were removed from. There’s a large hip guard over her left hip to hide a still healing wound made by Rei. There’s the same white silk cloth around her shins and she wears simple sandals. On her right hand is more of a combat leather glove and on her left hand is just a strap to protect her palm. Kaze’s animal form is a full blooded killer that should never be messed with. She’s a massive beast that strikes fear in the heart of almost every animal. Even though she’s a female she’s greater than any male of the species in size easily. She’s very intimidating and she knows it. She weighs in at 170 pounds of killing machine which isn’t much for her size. From nose to tail she is an astonishing eight feet long. At the shoulder she is a remarkable 3 feet of proud flesh. Unlike a normal panther, Kaze’s fur is actually pure black. It has no blemish or impurities in the color. It looks like velvet and it feels like it to the touch. While panthers aren’t the biggest cats of the animal Kingdom, her build makes her the super athlete. She has the ability to jump eleven feet straight up in the air and twenty-one feet in a single bound. She reaches striking speeds of fifty miles per hour and the stamina to make it even more deadly. Panthers are the strongest climbers of the cat family, and she often uses this to her advantage. She has a long strong tail that aids in balancing like a tightrope walker. Kaze is strong and can take down any animal in a heartbeat. She’s not a ruthless killer but will not hesitate to kill need be. She might be the strongest of the lunar beasts if not then a tie for it. It's All a Part of Me And that's who I am Kaze is a very strong willed person. She’ll push herself till she drops if she needs to. She can’t stand to see herself lose and sometimes will punish herself for it. She never gives up and something she knows she can achieve. If it means it will take forever then she’ll take forever, she has time on her side. She knows she can do something, and then she’ll do it. She fights till the end and won’t hesitate to take a risk to get there. It’s not unusual to see her training and then dropping out of pure exhaustion. Kaze finds herself rather distant from people at times. She tries not to get too attached to something fear if it were ever to leave she’d feel pain or sadness. She acts cold to protect herself. Hurt it before it hurts you, is what she believes in. She doesn’t do it to be spiteful or for fun, but more out of habit. Being on her own for years has made her slightly aloof. She is secretive at times too. She doesn’t let a lot of people in, just handful. She doesn’t like to let people know what she’s doing since she fears they will stop her or try to become part of it. She’s isn’t a social butterfly to begin with. She doesn’t tell a lie about it either. She will simply say, “It doesn’t concern you.” And walk away with just that. She doesn’t like it when people pry just out of curiosity. She doesn’t mind if you pry because you care for her, which doesn’t happen often anyway. When Kaze puts her mind to it she’s very devoted. When it comes to the people she cares about or something of her interest she doesn’t give up. Especially with music, she doesn’t like leaving work unfinished or sitting there for too long. When someone asks her to do something, and she wants to do it, she won’t stop till she thinks it’s at its best work possible. Again, it has to really have her interest or she won’t do it period. Depending on the situation, she can be forgiving on unforgiving. She won’t forgive her parents for dumping her in a place like this. She’ll forgive you if you say you’re sorry and really mean it. There are some things that can’t be forgiven. Betraying her and her trust is something you don’t want to do, ever. Small stuff she won’t hold a grudge over, just the very big things that affect her greatly. She does have a tendency to get jealous over little things. She won’t show it, since she doesn’t want to cause trouble. You’d think she’d like trouble, but she doesn’t since nothing good ever comes of it. If she feels that you’re a threat she will let you know, sometimes bluntly depending on what it’s on. She deals with jealously by leaving and spending time alone, to deal with things. She doesn’t take boy stealing very lightly and may often hurt those who do it. The one thing she is unforgivable about is stealing her favorite boy toy. She doesn’t care if he’s merely a bed mate, but he’s hers and wants it as much. She often beats the shit out of something them that happens. She’s a realistic person now days. She doesn’t believe in happy endings and is iffy on true love. She’s seen what it did to Senshi, and it almost afraid she’ll end up a miserable person like him. She doesn’t think childish things are fun. She knows the hard and cruel reality of it all and accepts it. She’ll give something to you straight, never lying. She’s been alive for so long she knows life. She can’t say she doesn’t regret the things she’s done, but won’t admit it out loud. She has slight trust issues. She will never trust someone right off the bat. It will take more than a couple of days, sometimes years to build a normal bond. You could save her life and she’d still not trust you. One thing doesn’t define a person. She needs a rather large sum of actions to analyze and calculate if you’re trust is real, and if she should risk her own for you. It’s not that she’s shutting you out, she’s just rather picky on whom exactly she lets in. It's Time to Fly And let's just say goodbye The dark path of this lonely beast was created many many years ago. No one knows this tale as it is long and harsh. If you are brave enough, then by all means, read on. Whether or not this is what you thought the fair panther had lived through just hold on tight. You may have changed your mind before it is done. The night of the new moon was this beast’s domain. It was dark and the eerie silence stunned all. Nothing dared to make a sound fear for their life. There was an unnatural presence among the flowers this night. They whispered softly at each other, bringing warning of an untold evil. Thus was the birth of a monster, one so foul it was shunned by all and cursed to the darkest depths of caverns. It soon was no alone as there was another. A pair of siblings had been created. For the Deluna pair had been created. They were damned with the names Kaze and Karros. Kaze was the oldest being created mere minutes before her brother. They were both beasts of the night who were to lurk for all eternity. The Delunas were both panthers but dark as the night. Kaze however had violet eyes while her brother has striking green. They both had each other and found they needn’t anyone else. However, they were young and naïve without parents to teach them and that lead to twisted thinking and ways. Kaze was actually abused by her brother. Karros was always angry who hated the rest of the world for hating them. He went out night after night killing just because he could. He often took his anger out on Kaze would didn’t know it was wrong at the time. They were alone in the caverns. None of the other lunar beasts had been created yet. Kaze was weak compared to her brother even in her massive size. She favored her human from trying to perfect it. Karros didn’t care for it and whenever he caught Kaze in it he’d attack her. He tried to tell her how if she kept it up she’d lose herself to the humans and the ones who hated her would kill her. Kaze supposed he was just protecting her and it only took a few near death experiences to finally stop practicing. Finally, her brother started to teach her how to fight, using his wild ways. Kaze picked up fast and learned with ease, the sign of a natural killer. She still felt that she needed to be strong in her human form too but was too scared to practice. One night when she Karros had stepped out to kill she shifted. Years and years of practicing at night had finally paid off. Here she was the person illusion both physically and mentally. No longer would one find her if she were to be seen in the sun, shadows who were against them to. No, a human form with no faults and the perfect means of getting around and picking objects up. However, celebrating didn’t last long. Her brother had returned earlier than ever before. He thought he had felt an offset that should be looked into, and he did. Kaze was too busy in her human form to even notice Karros, sucked into her own world. It wasn’t until he attacked her that she noticed. She was pinned from behind, deadly claws pressed against her and scratched at her skin. “You want to be a human Kaze?” She whispered into her ear, a cold shiver ran up her spine. Suddenly the weight decreased but was still there. Sharp claws were replaced by nails and flesh. Her eyes widened as she realized her brother too could shift. Her face was pressed against the cold floor of the caverns, the rocks slicing her cheek apart. She was so weak compared to him, and she hated it. “Well, do you know what humans do?” She asked running a finger down her bare back since clothing was neither known nor used by them. “Do you Kaze?” he demanded roughly. She shook her head; a pathetic no escaped her lips. A dark chuckle left his lips and he left his hand trail around not caring what their path was. “Humans are disgusting creatures,” he stated with a cold voice,” They like to defile each other.” Suddenly Kaze found herself being flipped over where her back was flush against the rock floor. Her hands were held above her head by a find iron grip. She was pinned and couldn’t move. She was clueless about it all. She wasn’t allowed to leave the cave without him. Whatever humans did was a mystery to her in every way. However seeing her brother like this was something she was not used to and it frightened her. She could on stare as he shifted about moving her legs here and there. Suddenly without a moment’s notice a ripping pain coursed through her body. She had never felt something so painful before. It didn’t stop and suddenly her brother was moving against her. “This is what human’s do to each other. Do you want that Kaze?!” She wasn’t really paying attention; her eyes had rolled back into her head in pain. She couldn’t do anything; she didn’t know what to do. Everything hurt and it felt as though she was being ripped apart. Everything was a blur for a couple of hours before she finally passed out. When she woke up she was alone and she couldn’t remember how long she laid there for. It wasn’t long until her brother returned and again she was put through hell and back again. This seemed to be his new anger relieving system which he took pleasure in taking. It didn’t matter if she was suffering because he had finally lost it. Kaze was going crazy; she couldn’t stand it any longer. Finally the night that he had passed out from exerting himself in pleasurable acts, Kaze stuck back. She landed one blow before he was up on his feet. Beast clashed with beast, no longer brother against sister. She would no longer recognize him as being her brother. The fight lasted for weeks until Kaze landed on final lucky blow and Karros couldn’t stand any longer. It broke her heart to sit there and watch the life drain from her brother’s body which he had killed. Didn’t he deserve this after all he had done to her? He gave one final request which he obliged. She sat there with him for his final moments and held his hand. Kaze tried not to try but it was futile and the broken girl wept. She wept for the brother who had done so much wrong but something he believed to be right. Was it really his fault for being hated so much by the world? Wasn’t she too hated just as much? Kaze decided that she was going to take revenge on those who drove her brother mad. She’d claim paradise as her own in memory of her brother as it was rightly theirs. Kaze buried her brother not too far from the cave. On his grave violets grew and Kaze thought it was a sign. With that she set off training day and night to be what she was born to be. A killer. She made a plan and started hunting the animals down, one by one. Then the bright idea of killing the ones who were held dear to paradise hit her out of nowhere. She was going to annihilate the existence of the decedents. This however proved to be harder then thought. There was no real way of figuring out which wolves were decedents since they didn’t really go around advertising. This was proving difficult as she wasn’t the most trusted animal out there. In fact, she was the most hated animal. She simply ignored the talk and sought what she was looking for. When she killed the first of the five she felt so in powered like nothing could stop her. The fight hadn’t been easy but wasn’t as hard as the one with her brother. It last a good few hours before Kaze was emerged victorious. Kaze sought to find them for years till another night had her searching for something else. The night was dark and silent, like never before. Kaze wasn’t scared and was actually curious for the source of the disturbance. Finally she found it. The birth of two more lunar beasts. Kaze instantly despised the older male for the very reason of her brother and steered clear of the animals who took the forms as wolves. They were young and still developing, something Kaze didn’t have time for. She needed to claim this place as her own. She killed many who stood in her path. She needed to find the remaining and kill them. She started heading into the city finding those who his in their form. Every animal that was human smelt faintly of lunar flowers. Kaze would kill them quickly in the night, but not before torturing for answers. She was the master of interrogation and could break anyone easily with her steel might. She appeared to nit register the pain that she inflicted upon others for her own benefit. If the information they call held she’d spare their lives, a kind gesture on her part. If it was useless she’d merely kill them with a painful death. Kaze’s next descendent to kill was harder than even the fight with her brother. The male brute proved to be harder then she expected. What had made it worse that he had been a bed buddy of hers. He had actually kept her a few weeks as his own, where she stayed at his home within the city. Kaze had to admit, no one was better in bed them him and she couldn’t stop going back. She knew she had to stop, but she couldn’t. It became harder to walk away when she stayed more than the night and would actually wake up to him and not leave. It wasn’t love, because Kaze had convinced herself long ago that she could no longer feel. It was a simple infatuation that would soon end. It came to the point where she was practically living with him, as he thought her to be perfect. She wondered if he would ever look at her the same if he knew what she’d done, or what she was. But she didn’t tell him anything and didn’t shift before him. She knew he was an animal from his smell but he never did know she was an animal since she smelled of violets and not lunar flowers. When she had been tipped that one of the descendants was in the city she began her hunt. It lasted many weeks, time she still spent with her bed buddy. The relationship evolved in his eyes and he began to talk more and more about himself. He became comfortable enough to spill he was an animal even though she already knew. She faked surprise but accepted him which he was grateful for. Kaze wasn’t lying to him but merely protecting him for herself. Not long after that he began to talk about his family and past and what he talked about next had her crushed. He told her he was a descendant of a great wolf who first opened paradise. Kaze was crushed and waited to the morning to flee. She ran to the caverns where she plotted on what to do. She left him a note saying she’d be back that night. After hours of thinking her time was up and she needed to show herself. She promised she’d spend one night with him and then end it. And so she did, and it was the best love making experience of her life. She’d never forget it and never did. When the night was still young and the sun wouldn’t shine for a view more hours she made her move. She positioned herself to kill when he awoke and had her pinned. He was confused and looked hurt. Kaze never did look him in the eye. She told him what she was and what he had to do. He didn’t seem to believe it and tried to talk sense into her. He tried to convince her that she didn’t need to avenge her brother and that he’d forget this and they could move on. But Kaze couldn’t forget what had happened with her brother and who was to blame. The fight was taken from the home to the fields closer to paradise then the city. The fight lasted for weeks and finally when both seemed to be at their end it pulled to the close. When he had the perfect opening he didn’t strike and Kaze was too late to realize he didn’t and struck at the first opening she saw. It was fatal and he didn’t have enough energy to keep going. It was done and finished; she couldn’t kill him knowing he couldn’t kill her. Instead she sat there with him, stunned that he was dyeing and she couldn’t stop it. And yet he smiled at her, no hatred in her eyes. She held him in her arms and he did the same. It was painful and she held him for hours. She responded when he spoke her name, so soft and just for her. “Kaze Deluna,” a broken smile,” I love you.” Kaze hadn’t felt anything toward the boy in means of love and this was something new. What was love anyhow? She was more than certain it wasn’t killing the person who loved you. She carried him toward her home and buried him next to her brother who shared the growth of lilies. Kaze knew that she’d successfully killed two of the five descendants. It had taken so many long years that she’s forgotten. Once again there was a disturbance much like before with the lunar beasts. She followed it yet again and sure enough she found the two newest arrivals. She left them be to grow and learn while she hunted down for more of the wolves. It was proving troublesome and Kaze was tired of it all. She tracked down the lunar beasts that she’d seen first and spoke with them. They were still young and Kaze had hundreds of years on them. They were easy to manipulate into joining her on her hunt for the ones who caused them so much hate. The hunt was soon on and it was becoming easier to track. She again went back to the youngest of the beasts who also agreed to join her. Together the brother and sister bear killed a descendant. After the female wolf killed one barely with her life and finally the last was taken down by the eldest brother wolf. At last paradise was claimed as theirs, which she always thought as hers. She had finally gotten revenge for her brother, the one who had used her for his own pleasures, whose mind had been twisted by hate. She felt slightly at peace and wished for her lover to forgive her actions. She still kept the necklace that he gave her of a simple metal chain and heart. She kept it hidden under the collar of her shirt and doesn’t remove it for anything, not even when sleeping with other men. She closed up after that, not really wanting to get attached but couldn’t deny her need for pleasure and the men who supplied it. She found seeking pleasure was enough to get her mind off of the things around her and everyman was different. She often stayed for more than one day. Sometimes she did scare the men with her natural deathly aura and mostly the ones who were brave enough approached her. She didn’t spend much of her time with the beasts and preferred to avoid them finding them all inferior. Hundreds of years passed by her so slowly; she wondered if maybe death would be a nice escape. That however, meant giving paradise up to the others that was something she didn’t want to do. However the peace ended when Reiketsu supplied to them that the new nobles were taking over. It was soon that his sister had been shot at. Kaze grew furious and went on a killing spree as well as a man finder hunt to take her anger out on. When her anger became too great for the men to even consider approaching she turned to the only option left. She turned to Reiketsu who wasn’t at all for the idea. However after a brawl that lasted forever they both just took their anger out sexually. Kaze never did admit it but it was the best sex she’d had in a long time. It was from that day on when she couldn’t find a bed buddy she’d simply go to Reiketsu. After a while he stopped fighting her and Kaze was thankful, he was after all good in bed. Soon the lunar beasts gathered to plan action against the nobles. Of course they all just wanted to kill and Kaze tried to explain that they had to think it out. However, most of the beasts just wanted to run in and massacre and didn’t pay any mind the Kaze who was older and more experienced. Kaze merely watching in annoyance as they bickered to each other about what to do. Kaze was growing tired of it and again took it out in bed upon Reiketsu. Soon they split, all trying to figure out what to do. It wasn’t until recently that they started to come together again, more determined than ever to make paradise their own. Kaze finally made the decision that she was going to knock some sense into the other beasts if they didn’t listen. Kaze’s dream of ruling paradise seemed to be coming to order. The beasts had finally come together. Kaze had even reconnected with some of them. Of course her bad bed habits with Rei came about again. They sleazed their way through long nights like they often did. It was only a matter of time before her plans came together, little did she know things were going to change quickly. Kaze hadn’t been feeling well and so she went to a human doctor. She discovered that she was pregnant with Rei’s seed. How did she know this? Whenever Rei was around she slept with him and only him, it was a habit. The news was startling and she couldn’t tell him. So, she ran far from him. She was left undiscovered for almost three months till she returned. He had accepted her back openly. He even dared to call this ‘home’. Kaze was at peace with this and basked in it. Her plans of gaining control were put on hold while she took time to concentrate on the thing growing within her. She was foolish to think things were going to be happy ever after. Soon Rei was seen less and less. Sometimes Kaze had to go looking for his scent about the caverns. He was off with these shifters in the city. He came home one day with a messed up ear mangled from a fight. Kaze wouldn’t admit to him how much it bother her to only see him once or twice in a month’s span or the lingering scent of a woman that burned her noise and made her curl a lip. This was slowly the beginning of the end. Kaze was nearing her due date. She was stressed and malnourished and emotionally struggling. Rei was off doing his thing and Kaze sat there and worried. Slowly she was becoming thing she hated. Kaze was at the strength of an average animal, the fire in her burning duly. It was that fateful night that things wouldn’t be the same. It was storming outside and Kaze was waiting at the door like she always did for Rei. It was when he returned that she expected him to greet her with some form of kindness; it never came. If anything she was greeted with such coldness that it might freeze the very earth. She confessed her need for him and he pitied her weak. A fight broke out and Kaze left the very cave she grew up in. On her journey away she was pinned under a tree and started going into labor. Somehow Rei heard her cries for help and came to her. He brought her to the nearest hospital where the humans tried to save her life. Kaze bore two twins that night. One boy and one girl. Rei stayed and patrolled the area keeping an eye out not for her but for the kids. Kaze was dead inside. Something was different and her vibrant green eyes no longer glowed. They were dull and lifeless. It was a few days later, after Kaze learned of Rei’s patrolling routes that she left with her kids. She was ready to be discharged she was just waiting for the moment to leave. When Rei was out on his lengthy routes she knew it was time. The nurses got her kids ready and herself and she left. She signed out of the hospital like any other person. She promised herself she wouldn’t cry for Rei, not anymore. She was due for a checkup in 3 weeks time. The nurse promised not to pass this information on to Rei if he were to come and ask. Rei came back to find a cleaned hospital room and the lingering scent of Kaze and the children. Anger was his first reaction to find his children were gone and not a clue to where they had gone. None of the nurses knew or they just wouldn’t tell him. After a killing rampage back in the valley the beast settled down again finding that getting angry wouldn’t do anything and that anger was a display of emotion toward Kaze. He would admit neither. So, Kaze ran with the kids far from these lands. She settled with a tribe on the other side of a mountain plain in a valley. The natives were nice and Kaze figured it would be ideal for her kids to learn to hunt. The tribe was made of animal shifters like herself but not of beasts except for one, the pack leader. When she first stumbled upon this pack Kaze was terrified. The scent of a lunar beast lingered about. At first she had thought Rei had tracked her down until further examination. The scent was new and different. It was lighter than that of the beasts back home. No. she didn’t have a home. Kaze kept a safe distance from the pack keeping her human form most of the time. Her children were a mere three months old and had yet to shift. She didn’t know what their animal forms were yet. The only time she shifted is when they fell asleep. She would change into her panther form and the scent of death would increase tend fold to ward off animals from her children. One night she shifted and went to hunt. She must’ve left her kids too close to the pack and the pack leader came wondering. When Kaze came back it was just as the pack leader was inspecting his find. Kaze was immediate to jump into her motherly instincts. However, as her children woke she quickly shifted to calm her children. The pack leader immediately stopped and shifted as well. His name was Lux Aurumque. It was easy to see that Lux was not like the lunar beasts of her lands. He was very different. He was calm and gentle, unlike Rei. The single mother and twins were taken into the care of the pack and Lux. Lux had taken a fancy to her often staying by herself. Kaze didn’t think much of it only that it was because she was a lunar beast and so was he. She knew that Lux was oblivious to what he was but she chose not to tell him. She didn’t even tell him that was like him. Kaze knew that this was the safest choice. She figured the less he knew the better. The months started to tick by and Kaze found herself attached. It was a night of celebration and partying. Lux was turning the age of 20. In pack customs it was an age of wise turning. Of course celebration was in order as they drank their hearts out in a nearby town. With drinks comes the lack of judgment and the act of sleeping with someone. Kaze awoke the next morning in the arms of Lux in a mess of sheets. The junction of her neck and shoulder was bleeding with the imprints of teeth marks. Kaze’s eyes widened. In this place was the act of claiming. It was said that when a male bites a female on the left shoulder, they would forever be connected. Kaze shook her head to myth. She did know that it would scar as she had seen with all females of the pack who had been claimed. Kaze found that she didn’t mind this. It was peaceful here. It was comforting the touch of a man after so long, but it would soon end. Finally after almost nine months the nightmares came back. The images of her fight with Rei and of her brother speaking to her. Kaze cried herself to sleep for weeks even with the comfort of Lux. Kaze knew there was only one thing to do. Run. Kaze left in the dead of night with her two children. She didn’t know whether Lux would follow her or not. She didn’t want to get hurt again, it was just too much. So, she crossed the great mountain range once more and found herself back in the homeland. There was no way that she would return to paradise, and she so settled in the City of Vale. It’s been ten months since she’s seen Rei and almost two weeks since she’s seen Lux. For low she settles in a small home just inside a city wall where she can leave easily to hunt. Her children have yet to shift but they look just like their father, forever haunting Kaze. Kaze covers her claim mark with a shirt but it can still be seen. Kaze doesn’t know whether she will ever see the lunar beasts again. Only time will tell. Your Voice is so Soft Speak up so they can know you Empty. It was the only words that seemed to process anything. She stared blankly at the baby blue walls before her. Her head rested softly on the pillow provided by the humans. The sheets smelt sterile but the heavy smell of blood still lingered on her skin. No amount of scrubbing would make that stench go away. Death lingered in the air as well as the feeling. Her breathing was low and almost nonexistent. Her encounter with the afterlife had left her speechless and unsure of everything. Her once vibrant alert eyes were dull and dead. Even with the removal of her children the life in her had not. She turned slowly on her back. The process was painful and slow. Her eyes stared at the patchwork ceiling taking in the dull glow of the lights. She glanced at her arms. Several tubes were hooked up to her attacked to hanging bags beside her. She made no move to remove them. What good would that do? The dull sounds of a small ‘beep’ had her eyes glued to another human invention. There were these green lines that crossed over the screen spontaneously with the beeps. They looked like ragged mountains, tiny little ones. It hit her that it was her heart beat. A sad little laugh left her lips. How small her heart beats were. How close there were to being not there. Her heart was weak. She was weak. She once again stared up at the ceiling but not before examining herself. Her skin was sickly pale, almost as white as the wolf that had left her mangled. She was covered in a series of bandages. She could see she was bleeding through some of them but she made no move to ask the humans for help. She didn’t trust her voice anyhow. She searched for the lump that she had become accustomed to over the past several months. It was gone. Just like that. She felt as though those long months of agony were gone in were seconds. Just like her life. How it suddenly was gone in mere seconds. She hadn’t known the value of her life till now. She was the eldest of all the beasts. She had lived for centuries before them. Time was not a factor to her. She had never come this close to death. Well, then again, she had never been dead before. Was the world in some sort of new image to her? Probably not. What confused her the most is why there was this regret. Was it wrong of her to wish she’d never woken up? The idea of finally being put to rest put her at some sort of ease. The suggestion that everything would finally be over didn’t sound bad at all. Hadn’t the poor feline had enough? Kaze knew without a doubt that out of all the Lunar Beasts, she had suffered the most. Being born with a beast that used her and abused his power in an act to be superior and teach her a lesson. To kill your own was no easy feat. Then she had to fall in love with someone just to turn around and kill them. Maybe this was her sign to give up on love. Love was for the weak right? A short hiss left her lips and her stomach burned. In an instant she was leaning over the side of the bed heaving her stomach out. After dry heaving for a few moments she stared down at the crimson that stained the floor. Her eyes narrowed. Nothing but blood, how nice. She spat on the ground before returning to her earlier position on her back. One would think she’d call for help, but Kaze refused to be helped any longer. She would show Rei that she wasn’t weak. Besides, she just figured it was her body rejecting human like fluids from her own body. She’d live once she got out of this place. She paused all movement and tried to heighten her senses as much as possible. She could smell him no, she could sense him coming. She turned over to her side and curled into a ball once more. What was he still doing here? Her eyes narrowed and fear gripped at her. Was he going to kill her? She closed her eyes. How pathetic. She was still scared? She opened her eyes and with sad eyes of realization she stared at the blue walls. Wasn’t scared… she was traumatized. Every second she felt her heart speed up, the machine was beeping louder and louder. She clenched her eyes shut. No. She had to calm herself. With deep breaths she eased her running mind till the beeping with a quite, slow, and rhythmic pulse. Stop. He was here. She closed her eyes and braced for the worst. Wait. Didn’t she want this though? Didn’t she want him to end her life and put her out of her misery? No, wait. What about her pups. She breathed in deeply. The scent of blood did not linger on his skin. A small sigh of relief left her dry lips. Her eyes glanced down at the pool of blood she had coughed up moments before. She’d worry about that later. Creek… She stopped breathing for a moment. He was finally here. Pause. No kill strike? She was still alive? A natural habit, she raised an eyebrow out of confusion. If he wasn’t going to kill her then why was he here? She would never admit it but a part of her still clung to the small hope that resided with her that he cared. He was staid through long hours of operation. He was come to see her. He hadn’t killed her yet. Her rambling was put to a halt as she snapped back to reality. No. He had betrayed her trust. She winced. She couldn’t think of it. Had she even noticed herself clenching so hard onto the bad sheets that her knuckles were turning white? Silence. This is how it was for was seemed like forever. She didn’t mind. She didn’t want him to speak. That last time he opened his mouth he broke her. His voice had been cold and unforgiving. He had meant every word. Had she meant what she said? Maybe. Again her mind nagged at her for lying. Lying? No, no way. It hadn’t just been heated words at the peak of her anger… or had it? She clenched her eyes together to try to block out the thoughts. They snapped open with surprise. She was weeping silent tears? The wet trail marks leaked from her violet orbs freely. She bit her lip- hard. Her eyes were clenched in an almost painful manor. No she couldn’t cry! She wouldn’t do this in front of him. Not again and never. She buried her face into the pillow trying to hide her weakness. He had won. He was broke her. He was done what she and everyone thought impossible. Her body lurched forward as she was attacked with a violent fit of coughs. The fresh scent of copper hung in the air once more. Slowly she removed her hand to find her palm covered in the very liquid that was on the floor. She clenched the fist and made an attempt to wipe it off against the side of the bed facing away from the wolf. She calmed herself. It was just her body getting used to things. More silence greeted her ears. She had long grown used to the silence even long before her situation. That long weeks that Rei hadn’t been there for her. She had come back just for him and she was left in the dark. Not this again. Why was it that her mind kept going back to the wolf that shattered her world? Had she been in love with? No, impossible. She was just his fuck buddy that just so happened to get pregnant. That’s all she ever was to him and what she’ll never be to him. He sighed, and she flinched. That sudden noise surprised her. It was as though she forgot he had been standing there. How… sad. He spoke. And like old habits, she listened. It was different. His voice was soft. Kind? Hardly. Like always, everything he said was a command and never a suggestion. She took in his words. Anger sparked at her dead soul. How dare he address them like he knew them. He had lost the privilege to call them his own when he shattered the ties with her. They were her babies… wait. There was more than one? She was genuinely surprised. She had only remembered one or maybe there were two? The past was a blur that didn’t matter. It wasn’t long before that short lived surprise was replaced with anger one more. Why was he talking so casually with her? Had he forgotten what he had done? “No,” it was barely above a whisper. No, what? She wasn’t exactly sure herself. It just seemed to what her mind was thinking. “Stop,” again she whispered. Stop, what? Again she was clueless. Maybe she was crazy. This was crazy talk, it had to be. “Why?” she questioned, her eyes clenched shut,” Why must you do this?” Why was he here? “How… how could you do this… to me?” What he had done wasn’t something she could just forget. He had wrecked her spirit. She didn’t care if he judged her. She didn’t care if he was now in his true form. She didn’t care anymore. Call her weak for what she spoke she wasn’t speak for speaking her mind. She wanted the truth. “I can’t stay here.” She propped herself up on her weak arms that resembled small twigs. Her thin hospital gown hung loosely around her shoulders. A hand quickly clamped over her mouth as another round of coughs ravaged her body. It was the same routine, but this time she didn’t bother to look at her hand. She placed it down on the bed to prop her weak body up. Her hair fell in an untamed waterfall about her in a dull motion. She could feel the bags weighing her eyes down. She hadn’t slept a full nights rest in weeks. She looked at the wolf. If he was tired that what did he expect from her? “I have to save my babies.” Motherly instincts were kicking in as she slowly swung her legs over the side closest to the door avoid the side that had been covered in blood. With much need effort she eased her small feet to the ground. “I won’t let them hurt my babies,” she spoke to herself once more. Things seemed to be going good so far. She finally lowered the rest of her weight to her feet. Alright she was up and ready. It was the next step that seemed to tell her differently. She was once her knees kneeling down. Her body shook and once again she covered her mouth. She was sweating, and her body shivered. Her bloodied hand was placed in on the tile ground. “I have to protect them,” She barely breathed to herself,” They’re all I have left.” Her hands were balled into fist as she tried to stand once more. Her stomach pleaded as it stung and contracted. She could only take a few steps before collapsing onto the floor. She looked pathetic. She could see him out of the corner of her eye. She didn’t need him, or so she kept telling herself. She’d save her babies without him. He didn’t want them but that didn’t mean she didn’t. “This is all your fault,” yes it was a childish manor of pick and blame but she felt his deserved this. She was panting, she could hear herself. Her heart thudded in her ears. Sweat beaded on her brow.“Why me?” She paused in attempt to move. Her body threatened to collapse. She could feel the stitches threatening to snap. She sunk further to the ground. Her gown was practically sliding off her body as the ties were loose, but she didn’t care. Violet orbs searched for amber. “Why did it have to be you?” |
